Three Challenges for the New Year

I have three challenges to offer to The Church of the Holy Trinity, North Augusta:
1.      That all our activities and programs as a church family this year be intentional about bringing others into a life-changing relationship with Jesus and growing us all in Christ-like character.

2.      That this church family continue to be a place where we (and others yet outside this fellowship) learn to fully submit to the good and perfect will of God for our lives.  Until we lay before God the brokenness in our lives that has come upon us simply by living in this world, until we confess the weakness of our own flesh to cling to our brokenness and dysfunction, until we renounce the things in our lives that are clearly under the influence of the Evil One, our transformation into Christ-likeness and appropriation of the Christian virtues are going to be hindered.

3.      That we live ever more fully into the blessings that are to be found in our communion with God and with each other.

  1. Wouldn't it be wonderful if all three challengs were more than met and that we grew a large youth group? Maybe a van or small bus would come in handy for transportation. If we were to do a visitation evening we could also tell them that we could provide transportation for the children and elderly that didn't like to drive after dark. Humm I think I have heard those words before.

  2. Good visions, Judy. I especially like the thought that we could be more intentional about offering a way to church for those who have a bit of trouble driving, particlarly driving after dark. We could be doing this now, even before reaching the point in our growth of affording a van.

  3. Well I don't know how to start or where to go to start a blog so I am just going to add it to this one. For those of you from Church that missed Sunday Feb. 12, 2012 evening covered dish dinner and Rev. Javon Seaborn speaking, you really missed a lot. Dinner was wonderful as usual and Martha made her outstanding desert. But the highlight of the evening was listening to Rev. Seaborn give his talk. To make it short, those of us that were there now understand more indepth about listening and understanding the voice that talks to you and most of the time we push it off. I for one will be listening more and asking Is that you Lord instead of thinking that I am losing it. I do hope that those of you that missed this evening will try to attend the next covered dish sunday evening.

  4. Is this the appropriate place to comment that I think our Experiencing God study on Wednesday evenings is awesome?! Folks are studying their material, committing God's Word to memory, sharing their thoughts and insights. We serve an amazing God Who desires for us to know/experience HIm!
